PROJECT OVERVIEW

Novi High School is a building with a lot of character.  These new additions integrate the existing character of the building with a fresh new look for the main entrances.  The design intent of the new additions is to create safe and secure entry points, while providing a new home for the school administration.  Whether entering from the West (Bus Loop - Taft Rd) or the East (Main Entrance - 10 Mile Rd), both secure entries will allow students, faculty, parents, and visitors to enter at either location.

Both additions are composed of two new dynamic canopies, that express their unique triangular grid structure from the underside.  These triangular design elements are also integrated throughout the interior.  On the site, each addition will consist of a new decorative “donor” bench.  These benches are an abstraction of the triangular canopy skylights and will be the new home for all the existing engraved pavers, which are currently found on the ground of the East entrance.

Another exciting feature of the project is the renovation of the northwest stairwell.  Partial glass walls will be added to allow for natural daylight and create a visual connection to the outside.  All these additions bring a cohesive and unique upgrade to the high school, that will improve the building’s daily operations as well as enhancing the overall learning environment and well-being.

The construction of these new entryways is made possible from the positive support of the Novi community in a 2019 bond proposal and vote that took place in the general election.

The building construction on the west side has started, with the east side to commence in the coming months.  The office and new entryways are planned to be completed by end of summer break.  The west bench is planned to be completed around the time school starts with the east bench being finished before the end of the year.

You may have students that are currently attending, yet to attend, or graduated from Novi High School.  Or maybe you may want to show your continued support of our community and schools through your personal or business acknowledgement.

This is a great opportunity to honor your Wildcat, celebrate an achievement, advertise your business, or preserve the memory of a loved one. Imagine the pride you will feel when you visit the bench and see your special message beautifully engraved on a brick!

Net proceeds from the brick sales will be used toward the Novi Educational Foundation's programs that support developing all our students’ social, emotional, and mental health skills.

PEP
TIMING

We hope you will join us and filling up these two benches.  The bricks will be sold separately based on planned construction dates.  The first bench (west side) had a larger number of bricks available and closed in July.  The second bench (east side) has a much smaller number of available bricks and is now available.  Our goal is to fill these benches up with your memories.  We need you to accomplish this task.

WE NEED YOU TO FILL THE BENCHES WITH MEMORIES

PASSIONATE, EMPOWERED, PREPARED

Each wall of the three-sided bench will be engraved with one of three words which reflect the NCSDs Vision for "Students who are passionate, empowered, and prepared for their world and their future."  This also reflects the District's Mission to "Provide impactful opportunities for all to cultivate lifelong learning."

You will be able to find your brick on one of these sides after the construction is complete.  Order today as quantities, sizes, and time are limited.
